Mom's B-Day Dinner

Wednesday is Mom's birthday, and since she and Dad will be leaving for Minnesota that day, we had her requested meal today. YUM!!! Great choice, Mom, and thanks for making it, Dad! It's a wonderful spaghetti pie served with extra sauce and tomato basil garlic bread.

Today sure was a quite day after all the excitement of yesterday afternoon!!! :>)

Backyard Pictures, The Day After...

Things were getting pretty dry until our last
few days of rain.

Only this far north will you see such blue skies
during the month of August, in the middle of a
fairly large city.

HAPPY DAYS!!! THE LETTER Arrived Today!!!

The "Approval Notice of Application For Waiver"
came in the mail to our house today. MJ brought
the envelope into the kitchen where G was working
on a dish for MJ birthday, man we couldn't freak'n
believe it. J was downstairs, and we called her up.
MJ tried calling E, but she didn't answer and J was
checking online, E was there. We were all shaking
and crying. MJ couldn't read the letter, so G did.
The following pictures tell the rest of the story.

The letter and envelope already placed in a frame by J.
S was at work when we first told E about the letters
arrival. These videos don't do the scene justice, but
here goes.

Dinner At Dave's, Sans Dave

Actually, dinner with Grm B and the bodofus. It was very nice to be able to see where D & P spend their free time, watching waves and counting ships. Thanks so much D & P for letting us spend a few hours. (D & P were in Frankfort heading home from a vacation on the boat and had lent Grm B the keys).

Here are some shots of the interior

and our wonderful, easy dinner of tomatoes and cukes straight out of the garden; fresh mozarella, proscuitto wrapped melon on greens with asparagus and a rasberry vinagrette; and Dad's wonderful braised beef. Angel food cake with fresh strawberries and blueberries. Couldn't be easier and very tasty!

Here's a little vid showing the view from the balcony and the lack of boat traffic tonight.

Notice the All IKEA, EM? I think you would have liked going shopping to furnish the place. Very nice peaceful getaway. Thanks again D&P and Grm B. for a wonderful late afternoon visit. We didn't stay for the sunset even tho they are arriving earlier and earlier each day. It was an exceptionally early alarm clock this morning for Dad and another early one again tomorrow.

Friday Walk About

The drive into town, MJ was already
in a party state of mind.

At Louis Benton, our first stop. Cocktails and
the spinach dip. Not recommended, chips
were way too greasy. Same mouth feel
that one gets from Spartan brand, off, off, brand
potato chips. You know what I mean.

Next stop, Leo's. MJ very nicely lit. Dinner, MJ,
white fish, G, shrimp and lobster cakes. All was
very tasty. Gazpacho, nice.

The bar and restaurant is behind us.
