Grilling Season Began Today

Outside grilling season officially began today.
Oh, please don't let the 4 foot high snow pile
throw you off.

The National Weather Service recorded a new
February snowfall record in Grand Rapids, 35.6",
the old record was 35.5" from 1900.
What's that you say?!
You are correct, there still are 9 days
left in the month. There is no doubt that we
will set another new record soon.
So far our winter season (Dec., Jan., and Feb.)
total is 82.0". The second snowiest since 1951-
1952.
If it's going to keep on snowing,
we might as well go for the record!

Jill's Early Birthday Celebration

Jill's choice for dinner today was calzone with
ham, pepperoni, onions and red pppers.
Very tastey.

Jill's dessert was a small banana cake placed
over a chocolate fudge cake, very tastey.

that Great Grandma and Grandpa R could help
us sing happy birthday to Jilly.

Saturday Morning With M

When Will It Stop?!

US 131 was completetly ice covered this morning.
My thermometer read 9ºF at home.
When I got off of 131 at M-57 and checked the temp again,
minus 9ºF.
Thank the gods of physics for sublimation. At least
the road surface was fairly free of ice!
And finally, I saw blood being wrung from a turnip, or
the next best thing. There was a beautiful fall of ice
crystals just before I got to Greenville, the kind
where there are no clouds and all light soarces
become lasers pointing to the heavens.

A Little Taste Of L

L and J spent some time with us today.

Grandpa was able to spend some one on one time

with L.

Snow Day Off, Lunch With Em And M

Snow mounds after our lastest round of snow.
Very bad yesterday and today, MCC was closed,
meaning employees didn't have to come in, although
I was already at work when I got the message of
the closure.

Em and M walked to our house to have lunch with
Grandpa.


M's first visit to an igloo. He wasn't crazy about
it, but I'm sure he'll grow to love playing in
the snow.

Em and S went on a date this evening.
Dinner and a movie.

MJ and I got to watch M.
Man he was fun to be with tonight!
I had to split the film, as things weren't working
quit right.
