Misc. Shots From Back Yard, Oh, And The Dog

Goooooing, and First Blossoms
Mt. Marcos is still hangin' in. Maybe the Mt's
namesake will be able to see it. Hmm, maybe we
should cover it with insulation.
OK, if it was pristine white snow, I'd seriously consider
that option.
Our first blossoms of the year, in the front yard of course.

Goooing, And The Garden Goddess
Mount Marcos is just about gone. Cold today,
mid 30's, but completely sunny. I had to adjust
the brakes on Michael's bike. Say a prayer for him.
The fully exposed goddess, face right to the sun,
sitting sentinel over her young ones.

Coming Soon! (Under construction)
Here is the first photos of Marcos' cousin! I had my prenatal appointment today. His initial due date, set two weeks ago, was September 20. It changed in a big way today.
Little Angus (I think he's a boy and I've been referring to him as Angus instead of "It") was supposed to have a nice strong audible heart beat that I had been excited to hear today, but there was none. My nurse-midwife sent me for an ultrasound at Spectrum. Thankfully, Sean was able to take a few hours off work and come along.
It was a frustrating couple of hours between appointments, worrying that something might be wrong. The ultrasound technician saw only a black area where Angus should have been. Going in for a MUCH closer look, she turned the monitor away from my view and told us she was taking pictures and would explain what she was seeing in a moment. I was so nervous!
And then.....we got a look at these beautiful pictures!
Angus is only 7 weeks old and one centimeter long! His new due date is October 30. According to my pregnancy books, he's busy sprouting arms, legs, and a neck this week! It's way to early to hear the heart beat but we were able to see it and the tech measured it at 130 beats per minute.
I'll be able to sleep VERY peacefully tonight (at least until 3 or 4am when I'll have to use the bathroom). What a relief to have my first glimpse of Angus and to know for sure when to expect him!

Signs of Spring
One can see the change in snow hill height between
this picture and the one on the previous post. That's
what 40ºF temps and an evening of light rain can do.
Another sign of spring, freakin day light savings time.
Each year I hate this occurrence, robs us of an hour of time
and screws with our suprachiasmtic nucleus and our
circadian rhythms. May Fred Upton be damned.

Ah...the goddess is back. She will be quite busy
Some hardy flowers, man, ya can't keep mother
A silver maple tree next door. The buds are getting
pretty plump. These will probably freeze and fall off
Perfectly done. And potatoes in the pan.
Turns out we didn't eat the meat loaves today.
One of our new housemates was jonesin' for
pizza. No problem, it'll be just as good in a day or two.
OK. Who the hell took this picture?
K#$$%* and I watching the sun set. It was a gorgeous
day and a beautiful sun set.

Snow Height and Video From Saturday Morning
Picture showing the snow pile out back. It's about 4' tall.
I can squint my eyes and see Marcos looking out of a window
in this snow house, inviting us in for milk and cookies.
Next year, oh yeah.....
Video of back and drive before shoveling this morning.
Sean helped me move all of the snow.
