Quiet Sunday

A little bit of Christmas in July.
I'm watching Scrooged right now; haven't been
able to see it around Christmas the last few
years, but they show it in July, bravo!

This is my desk top desk top.

Gail and Lois went to church this morning. Jerry
and Gregg didn't and got to Granny's about 9:30,
yeah, late start. Faye and Joe were already there.
They are to the point where lots of little "things"
are being looked at and gone through. John Birch came tearing into the driveway while
we were waiting for the church ladies. We had a great conversation with him. He was sounding
very good.
At 12:15 PM, the elders went to the Prancing Pony,,
no, sorry, the Black Stallion for lunch with some Bloomberg
relatives, I'll have names later. They had a great
time reminiscing.
Back to Granny's and a pretty early end to the day today.
Everyone is pretty drained. Cindy and her daughter
stopped by to pick out a remembrance of Granny.
They are the family that Granny spent time with,
especially at Christmas.
We will be ordering delivery dinner from Dudley's
pretty soon. We'll get right to it tomorrow morning
again.
Gregg didn't go to lunch with the elders and stopped
by the Care Center to check out the chapel.

These are some plants that came from Granny's
funeral. They supplied about the only color in
the chapel right now. Got to say hey to Mr. Birch again.

You gotta party hardy marty...
god bless us, every one.....
put a little love in your heart!

Om Mani Padme Hum.....Om Mani Padme Hum.......

Om Mani Padme Hum,,,,,,,OK,,,thanks, thats better.

Hey, does anyone know who this crazy cat is?
He is either one of the Smith Bros., or the Grandfather
of Dusty Hill.

Have you ever wondered what was in the fiber
barrels next to the basement comode?

Roper and I brought the organ out to the garage
yesterday. This morning I looked at the left end,
shown here, and could just about see Gramps'
palm resting on this dooh dah, while he was playing
and singing Barney Google. There was a definite
moment of verklemptatudeness.

Uncle Joe and Gregg working hard first thing.
Ya don't want to burn out too early in the day.

Robinson reunion, Hanna's Bend Park, Cannon
Falls, MN.

Gail, Jane Swanson and Janice Swanson.

Robert and Cindy's husband.

Heidi's husband, Dennis Swanson and Ron Beiztle.

Loraine Robinson. Glen's sister in law.

Kris Swanson, Lora Swanson, friend from Austria,
Patty "WHO", Cindy's son, playing bocce ball.
Robert and Chris are storing the Singer Sewing
machine for Grannys kids.

Hooray for Volunteers!

And now for something completely different......G- here's
a few shots from today's garden. Scattered throughout this
summer's garden are these lovely little sunflowers. Hooray for volunteers....
with a little help from the birds! I have not been out to do much
weeding, so don't look too closely, but most of the flowering plants are in bloom.

Still waiting for the rest of the phlox, the obedient plants
and the balloon flowers. Though, the mums in H's plot are
very close to blooming too, which seems early. M and I are
picking the last of the peas I'm afraid. Anybody have some
tomatoes ready to pick yet? Ours are just beginning to show
fruit - weeks and weeks away from enjoying samonilla free tomatoes!

And finally, here's the contribution to the B Fam Reunion tomorrow.
You may detect a "B" theme here: Baked beans, brownies, and the
B-Pie (actually, pasta pie which doesn't look nearly as good as the
ones G has perfected.)

The Work Begins

We got a fairly early start this morning. We have
a pretty large dumpster for the do not save items.

We lunched at the Cannon Ball truck stop.
Spoty quality reports from all dinners; was a
nice break from, The Kitchen.

We got pretty far with cleaning out Granny's
house today. Clothes bagged up for Salvation Army,
things straightened out for a possible auction.
Robert S. came over after work and helped carry
a sofa and the organ up from down stairs.

Hey Ho, Hey Ho,,,It's Off To MN We Go

Here are some quick photos from today.
The ferry arriving at the dock in Muskegon.

Just before letting off cars from Milwaukee.

We were the first van in line, we are almost
to the dock in Milwaukee.

We ran into an official severe thunderstorm about
15 miles from The River. This is the back end of
the storm, about 35 miles west if the river.

Eat my wake!

Experimenting with rustic, artisan style bread.
After proofing the batter overnight, here are
the loaves on final rising.

Lovely Sunday afternoon with L in the backyard
after a long walk and a short nap.

Bread cooling and the spicy spareribs to munch as well.
We ate the bread with baked brie - great first attempt. Thanks, G!

Our Fourth Celebration

Jill and L joined us for a picnic lunch in our backyard
this afternoon. We had Kingma's brats, veggie pasta
salad with a creamy ranch dressing, these rustic
grilled au gratin potatoes and inlagd gurka.

L was great fun all day. You can see her first
teeth on one of the pictures. She swam for a while
in the blow up pool. She is spending the night
with us.

L's app this afternoon was some cheerios.
