MJ and I picked up our first order from the
West Michigan COOP. These jumbo eggs
came from Creswick Farms. They were good.
I did expect them to have a brighter yellow/
orange yoke than they did. But you could tell
that they were very fresh.
Four eggs broken, for double yolks.
We also purchased a fresh whole chicken from
Heritage Acres. The chicken we got was just
under 4 1/2 lbs, the package included the neck,
heart and gizzard. We just salted the bird
and roasted it on our Weber grill, with a touch
of smoke. Again, the quality was good, but
I was expecting the bird to look more like the
chickens that are sold in Mexico.
M and Em joined us for dinner, which also included
grilled potato au gratin and a green salad.
We also purchased, frozen, a beef rump roast(100% grass
feed) and a Boston butt (pasture raised), from Creswick.
Which we we be using in the next few days.
I was just a little disappointed in the look and taste
of these items, but having said that, I was thrilled
to be using products from animals that have been
humanly raised; that's a big part of our trying
out the Coop. Bon Appetit
