Christmas arrives......

Mary Jane and I put up our Christmas tree and some outside decorations today. Yes, the tree is artificial.
We had to get our decorations up just a bit earlier this year, as we will be in Mexico during the holiday.

Today we had beautiful weather while putting up the decorations, sunny skies and about 50ºF.

Very nice for late November.

Thanksgiving at Bill and Tammi's

We had our Thanksgiving get together at Bill, Tammi and Soren's house today.
Bill had everything planned out and did the vast majority of the food. Everything was great.
Mom and Dad were there, as were Carl and Sue. Issac is home from Western and came over with Michael, just before we ate.

Here is our buffet. Bill did a brined turkey that he added fresh herbs to before heat roasted it.

This is the turkey, carved and ready to eat.

These are the pies that MJ and I brought. You can tell how hard I worked on these babies.

Finally, here is Issac, Grandma and Michael.

We hope that all of our family and friends had a great day and will have a relaxing rest of the weekend.

We love you all.

MJ, Talking Turkey

For the last 9 years, Mary Jane has planned and implemented a meet and greet luncheon the day before Thanksgiving. The main attendee is our local US Rep Vern Ehlers, http://www.house.gov/ehlers/. The name of the luncheon, Talking Turkey.
Once again the luncheon went off brilliantly, here are a couple of pictures.

This is US Rep Vern Ehlers making a point during his address to the group.

This is the center piece and individual dessert/treat that MJ designed and put together. The little treat is a "de-constructed malo bar"; jelly bellies in marshmallow, chocolate, coconut and espresso (just for fun) accompanied by pistachios and a chocolate turkey candy. Very fussy, time consuming, (130 guests) but fun for a change. We did white chocolate wishbones last year.

This is our dinner, Stouffler's lasagna.
Smells great in here right now.

A first time for everything, well not everything, but here goes nothing.

This is our first attempt at blogging.

I enjoy reading other's blogg attempts and figured I'd give it a try, plus it will be a good way to keep family updated on our comings and goings and others "things".

This is going to be fun.

Here we go, hold on tight!
This is a picture of Mary Jane, me and Marquitos, our first Grandson, taken October 9th at GRR.
Man what a great guy he is.
