Day One Of Vacation

We had a fairly laid back day today. Didn't even
go grocery shopping at Meijer. We did go to Kingma's
and picked up a couple fresh chickens. We hung a
new picture that MJ purchased Thursday night at a
fund raiser. We also did some maintenance on our
old work horse desk top. Looked like two mouses
had taken up residency. Not mice, but a couple
dusty bunnies. We also added two 512MB memory
modules to help speed the old girl up. Seems to have
worked.

Today is the first time to use the grill this season.
We roasted and smoked our Kingma's chickens,
potatoes and potato sausage. We used apple chips
for the smoke. Everything turned out great.
The flavor of the potato sausage was really
enhanced by the smoke.

Saturday Morning Fun With L and M

Cute shot of N.

MJ was very busy cooking and baking this afternoon.
I think she was just trying to keep busy and not
think about the fact that N and Jilly left for a
week visit with family and friends in Indy.

Grannies Pink Glassware Gets A New Home

MJ and Em visited Beth B.
in the Detroit area 2 weeks
ago. They stopped at Ikea
and MJ purchased a cabinet
that will become the new home
of lots of Grannies pink
glassware.

This is Ikea's, Leksvik.

Where's The Beef

Gregg and Co. did the MCC recognition
dinner on Friday night.
There were 3 choices of main entree;
the most popular choice was ribeye.
About 43#'s was prepared. They started
with a garlic, kosher salt, crushed rosemary
and black pepper rub.

425ºF for 15 minutes, then 350ºF for
about 2 hours, 20 minutes and they
had reached 127ºF.

After resting for about 30 minutes, the
ribeyes were triples wrapped in foil and
placed in a hot box until service.

L's Afternoon

L helped Grandma pick up sticks this afternoon.

And had a little story to tell this evening.

L was saying "Hi" to an elephant on a pillow and she did
excuse herself.
